In this series of posts, we’re going to discuss Flexibility when it comes to goal achievement – more specifically, what is the importance of flexibility for weight loss?
When people have issues in their lives, its generally a result of inflexibility in their thinking towards the specific problem.
NLP’s core focus is giving clients more flexibility re their specific challenge – thereby allowing them to see more & more options re how they can conquer their issue. These options were always there, but they couldn’t see them because of their rigidity.
Fundamentally, the more options we have available to us when solving a problem, the quicker and more easily we’ll find a solution. The same principle applies when solving mathematical problems as well as when solving real life challenges in life!
So our first major principle re being more flexible is Einstein’s Definition of Insanity. This simply says – Doing the same thing over & over again & expecting a different result – something that’s clearly not going to work!
So the exercise that I want you to complete this week, is to think carefully of any issues you may have, esp re your ideal weight, and start to observe what inflexibility you might currently display re this challenge.
For example, are you inflexible re:
- The Foods you eat?
- What types of physical activity you’re willing to do & enjoy?
- What Stress management techniques are you willing to apply, to be more relaxed?
- Do you really need to drink coffee each day?
- Do you really need to drink alcohol each day?
- etc etc
The importance of flexibility for weight loss is paramount. My aim with these posts is to help you introduce more & more flexibility into your thinking and your life & see how this has a huge impact on your progress towards achieving your goals – esp your ideal weight!
