So after you have made an honest list of all the things you like & dislike about smoking, as well as another list of why quitting won’t be easy and how you will address these challenges, the next step to quit smoking is to set a quit date.
Writing a “quit smoking date contract” that includes your signature and that of a supportive witness has been found help keep you committed to quit smoking and staying a non-smoker.
So what will be your quit date? Will it tie in with an important event in your life, for example, a birthday, a wedding, the birth of a child, and overseas trip, a new job, an operation etc
So who will be your witness, that will support, guide & encourage you to success? Will it be an ex smoker, a close friend, someone you work with, a family member or your partner?
