In this post, we’re going to focus on easily adding flaxseed to your diet.
Flax is available as raw seed, ground seed & as an oil, available at most health food stores. The easiest way to add flaxseed to your diet is to:
- Add ground flax seed meal to your food,
- Substitute other oils with flax oil when cooking or baking,
- Add ground flax seed to pancakes, waffles & cereals, or
- Sprinkle ground flax in salads or scrambled eggs.
Here is a great super-healthy power shake recipe:
- 8 ounces of your favourite juice (eg. apple or orange),
- 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil,
- 2 tablespoons of soy powder,
- 1 tablespoon of lecithin, and
- Fresh fruits such as bananas, papayas or blueberries.
Simply blend with a hand or electric blender. This shake will provide you with the health benefits of soy, omeag-3s, fibre, antioxidants & enzymes from the fruits, as well as the fat loss benefits of lecithin
