In this 2nd post in this series, we’re going to continue discussing Flexibility when it comes to goal achievement – more specifically, the importance of flexibility for weight loss!
In this post, we’re going to discuss the powerful law from NLP call LAW OF REQUISITE VARIETY.
Last week we discussed the famous scientist Albert Einstein. This week, we’re going to discuss another legendary scientist!
Charles Darwin was an evolutionary biologist that lived in the 1800’s. He is famous for his theory of evolution.
One of the questions that really fascinated Darwin was why in the midst of changing environments & landscapes, did some species thrive, while others, like the dinosaurs, perished & became extinct.
What he found greatly surprised & shocked him! He found that it wasn’t the strongest that did the best. Nor the smartest. Not even the species that had the most resources at their disposal.
It was the species that were the most flexible, the most adaptable, that thrived.
NLP is all about giving our clients more options and helping them develop the flexibility to be able to use them.
We have found time & time again, that the clients that do the best with our programs are the ones that are the most flexible – willing to give new approaches a go, experiment, become almost child-like in their curiosity to explore different options and ideas, until they find the best combination of techniques that work best for them!
So the LAW OF REQUISITE VARIETY simply says the person with the most flexibility and adaptability in any environment, be it at home, work etc, is the one that will thrive!
So we ask the question again – how you can become more flexible, more adaptable in your approach towards achieving your goals – esp reaching your ideal weight?
For example, are you willing to try new approaches to achieving your ideal weight, outside the standard approaches using exercise and nutrition? Are you willing to keep exploring different options for achieving your ideal weight until you find the right one for YOU? Are you flexible enough to realise that what you have been doing up until now hasn’t given your the results that you wanted & that a radically new approach may need to be taken?
As stated in our first post in this series, the importance of flexibility for weight loss is paramount. My aim with these posts is to help you introduce more & more flexibility into your thinking and your life & see how this has a huge impact on your progress towards achieving your goals – esp your ideal weight!
To your optimum health, well being & ideal weight!
