In this first post on this topic, we will begin discussing the importance of the new year for weight loss.
The new year is a period of excitement, celebration, appraisal & planning! Excitement about what the new year holds for us! Celebration of our achievements in the previous year! Appraisal of our performance in all our goals & desires from the beginning of the previous year – what worked and what could be improved. Careful planning of what we’d like to achieve in the new year, over the next 12 months.
We are going to focus primarily in this article on the planning component. You see, a large component of what we use in our Reach Your Ideal Weight program is Integral Neuro Linguistic Programming (iNLP).
iNLP advocates the pursuit of excellence in all endeavours. As part of this, it focuses a lot of attention on goal setting and achievement. In fact, it’s the study of how to integrally and linguistically affect a person’s neurology in order to achieve a desired outcome or goal.
iNLP places great emphasis on having goals in all areas of life. For the purposes of this article, we’ll focus on the 6 areas of life that Jim Rohn, the famous US motivational speaker, described.
