Remember skipping at school during primary school? What fun we had! Did you know that because skipping is a strenuous aerobic exercise, its an awesome way to achieve weight loss! It’s something that you can do in the comfort and convenience of your home. You only need a skipping rope that is the right length for your height. Put your favourite music on and have a blast!
Skipping helps in four ways:
- Fat Loss – Skipping can help you burn the calories required for weight loss.
- Improved Cardiovascular Fitness – Because your heart rate increases as you skip, the activity works your heart and the vessels that transport oxygenated blood around your body.
- Muscle Tone – Regular skipping improves the muscle tone in the legs and lower body and also in the upper body as your shoulders and arms work the rope.
- Low-impact Exercise – If done properly (jump no more than one inch up from the floor), skipping has a lower impact on the joints that jogging or running.
